Information Sheet

Thank you for choosing Happy Dogs and welcome to what I hope to make a pleasurable, safe and relaxing training experience for both you and your dog.

The following information is given to aid the above and ensure everyone’s safety so please keep this sheet for future reference.

1. Please keep your dog on lead at all times unless instructed otherwise.

2. Do not let your dog lunge/pounce on other dogs/people. This can be disturbing sometimes resulting in unnecessary stress/aggression for both parties.

3. Do not worry if your dog has an “accident” as this does happen. A mop and bucket is available but please bring Poo bags and clean up afterwards.

4. The hall is no smoking.

5. Please turn off all mobile phones.

6. Wear flattish comfortable footwear.

7. Spectators are more than welcome but in order to reduce possible confusion for the dog and maximize space available only one handler per dog is allowed on the training area at a time.

8. Please keep children under control.

9. If you are asked to do something you are unsure/unhappy about then please ask me to re-explain how/why to do it. If you still do not want to do it then please don’t, say so and an alternative option will be given. You are not being a nuisance as there are always alternatives. It is my job to help you find what works for you and your dog.

10. Equipment required: - Your dog, a lead (not a flexi or all chain) a fixed collar (with an identification tag as required by law) and some tit bits. If anything else is required you will be advised the week before.

11. You can see from the course sheet not only training exercises are covered but also some behaviours i.e. barking, jumping up, play biting etc. Whilst these are covered generally in class some behaviours are more specific to a particular dog and circumstances that don’t arise in class. It may then be necessary for individual one to one assistance in the appropriate environment. I do provide this if needed. Fee: £40 per hour and £5 traveling cost if outside of Chelmsford.
