How Happy Dog's Chelmsford
was formed
My name is Dave Rowe, my
wife and I have owned dogs for 25yrs. About 12 years ago we
rescued a whippet call Ben who had been living on a farm and
had no idea what living in a family home was all about. This
prompted us to seek out training classes.
The first person we called was very unhelpful but luckily the second person
enrolled us in their classes. We both found the classes enjoyable and I discovered
I had a flair for dog training and was soon helping other people in the class.
I have since undertaken dog trainers
and behaviourist courses and I am now a qualified instructor.
I run my courses from a local hall and
I am recommended by the local RSPCA centre in Great Baddow.
My training is done by rewarding the
dogs for getting it right and not by telling them off when
they get it wrong. I train the same way as if your dog was
entering Cruffs, But explain how it is used in every day life.
Dogs are trained to the standard required by the owner and
not my standards because every one and every dog has different
requirements.
A bit about the courses
My courses cover a 12 week period because I find that gives
the dogs a chance to settle down with each other and then they
learn more. I train you to train your dog and give you the guidance
you need. I do cover some behaviour issues on the beginner courses
like barking but can not cover every thing. I welcome other members
of your family to come and watch because every one needs to be
doing the training the same way so as not to confuse the dog.
Unfortunately some behaviour problems can not be sorted out
in class and for this I offer private sessions in the dogs own
environment.
I would like to take this opportunity
to thank all my current and previous clients and welcome new
comers to Happy Dog's Chelmsford.
